PEC Launches Global Freelancing Program for Pakistani Engineers

PEC Launches Global Freelancing Program for Pakistani Engineers
The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has launched a new initiative to boost global freelancing opportunities for Pakistani engineers. The program aims to train 5,000 engineers to work professionally on international digital platforms.
Training for International Freelance Platforms
PEC Chairman Wasim Nazir stated that the program, called the Global Engineering Freelance Initiative, will be delivered entirely online. Participants will learn how to create strong portfolios, bid for projects, and secure their first international freelance assignments.
The training focuses on helping engineers compete effectively in the global digital economy and adapt to the rising demand for remote engineering services.
AI-Based Career Assessment
As part of the program, participants will undergo a career assessment using artificial intelligence. This evaluation will assess skills, identify strengths, and suggest suitable freelance opportunities. Officials say this will enhance engineers’ competitiveness in international markets and prepare them for global client demands.
Promoting Engineering Exports and Foreign Exchange
PEC officials believe the initiative will increase the export of engineering services and contribute to foreign exchange earnings. By enabling young engineers to access projects abroad, the program also supports Pakistan’s integration into the global digital economy.
Application Details
The online training is scheduled to start in the third week of April 2026. Engineers registered with PEC will be eligible to apply. Officials encourage professionals across Pakistan to take advantage of this opportunity to enhance their skills and explore international freelancing careers.
