Elahi’s release: LHC issues written order

The Lahore High Court has issued a written order on bail plea of former Punjab chief minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in illegal appointment case.

Yesterday, the court had ordered to release Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi from jail and the former Punjab chief minister reached Zahoor Elahi Palace from Lakhpat Jail.

It should be noted that the Lahore High Court granted accepted the bail application of Elahi in the Punjab Assembly recruitment case and ordered his release.

LHC’s Justice Sultan Tanveer accepted the bail application while pronouncing a reserved decision.

Pervez Elahi’s lawyer was of the opinion that the PTI leader has nothing to do with these recruitments and anti-corruption had filed the case with a delay of two years.

On the other hand, IGP Punjab submitted the details of the cases registered against Parvez Elahi in the court of Justice Amjad Rafiq.

According to the report, Punjab Police named Pervez Elahi in 20 cases of May 9. He was named in 3 cases in Lahore, 4 in Faisalabad and 11 in Rawalpindi. The PTI leader was also named in one case each in Attock district and Gujranwala district.
