X (twitter) becoming Super App by launching peer-to-peer payments

X.com, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, announced it would begin rolling out a peer-to-peer payment service similar to Venmo or PayPal by mid 2024 for becoming an “everything app.”

In a blog post X revealed, that it’s becoming the everything app, seamlessly uniting experiences into one interface, for everyone.

The X said that We willlaunch peer-to-peer payments, unlocking more user utility and new opportunities for commerce, and showcasing the power of living more of your life in one place.

X envisions these payments as a means to unlock “more user utility and opportunities for commerce,” propelling the platform’s mission to “revolutionize 2024.”

Social payments on a platform as influential as X could accelerate the adoption of digital payments on a globally.

X said that it will increase the amount of original content and talent, keep funding content partnerships and creators, and improve advertisements this year.
