Adnan Siddiqui slams Bollywood for ‘tearing apart’ Reshma’s classic
Pakistani actor-host Adnan Siddiqui has slammed Bollywood’s remake of Reshma’s timeless classic “Akhiyaan De Kol” for the upcoming film “Do Patti”.
Siddiqui took to social media to express his discontent, urging the makers to respect the legacy of the late legendary folk singer.
“Imitation can be flattering, but not when it means tearing apart a classic by a legend. Please show some respect for Reshma jee and the legacy she left behind. Her music deserves to be treated with the dignity it commands, not reduced to just another sordid ripoff.”

Fans of Kriti Sanon, who features in the item song, also expressed their disappointment on social media. “Seriously!! Ruined one of the best songs,” wrote one user, while another added, “Reshma ji would have never thought of such portrayal of her song.”
The original song “Akhiyaan De Kol” is a beloved classic by Reshma, a renowned Pakistani folk singer. The revamped version, sung by Shilpa Rao, features in Sanon’s maiden production “Do Patti”, co-starring Kajol and Shaheer Sheikh, set to premiere on Netflix on October 25.
