Why India’s Yash Raj Films withdrew offer to Pakistani actor Ali Raza

Ali Raza, a young actor of Pakistan showbiz industry, has said that he got an offer from India’s Yash Raj Films, but they did not know that he was a Pakistani.

Ali Raza, who gained fame from the drama serial ‘Noor Jahan’, said that the famous Indian production company Yash Raj offered him an acting role, but they did not know that he was a Pakistani. When I told them that I am from Pakistan, then  our conversation could not proceed further, he added.

In a recent interview, he received a message from Yas Raj Film’s casting director Shamon Madam via its official Instagram page, offering to cast him in a feature film.  The casting director also sent me mono log of film “Aey Dil Hay Mushkil” and asked for my contact number, he added. The film also had lead roles of Ranbir  Kapoor, Anuska Sharma and Aishwarya Rai.

The team of Yash Raj Films directed me to shoot and send one of the scenes of Ranbir Kapoor’s film, which was later liked by them, he continued.

The team asked that when should they arrange your seat from Calcutta? To which, I told them that I am from Lahore. The Yash Raj’s team said that they will contact me later when they will be shooting outside India.

The actor said that this is how they changed their mind after knowing his nationality.
