Bachelorette star Katie Thurston shares shocking update on cancer battle
Former Bachelorette star Katie Thurston, 34, revealed in an emotional Instagram video Friday that her breast cancer has metastasized to her liver, upgrading her diagnosis to stage four.
Health Update:
- Initially diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer 43 days ago
- New scans detected “fairly small” liver tumors
- Will begin updated treatment plan April 4
Despite the progression, Thurston struck a hopeful tone: “Stage four can sound scary, but because we caught this early and I’m triple-positive, I feel very optimistic about my outcome.”
Personal Milestone:
The news comes just one week after Thurston married comedian Jeff Arcuri on March 22. The couple shared wedding photos on Instagram with the caption: “We said ‘I do’ on March twenty two.”
