Minahil Malik Slams Umair Awan for Using Private Clip in Laareya
Pakistani singer Umair Awan has responded after TikTok star Minahil Malik filed an FIR against him, accusing him of using her private video clip without consent in his new song Laareya.
Minahil took to her TikTok account to publicly call out the singer, claiming he used her personal footage in the music video without permission. In a video message, she warned him to take the song down within 24 hours, stating, “If the song is not removed, I will be forced to take legal action.” She said the inclusion of her personal clips in the video was “unacceptable” and demanded immediate removal.
Refusing to comply, Umair Awan fired back, saying he would not delete his song “under any pressure” and added, “Minahil is free to do whatever she wants.”
Sticking to her word, Minahil proceeded to file a formal complaint and later posted another video addressing Awan, saying, “Now go and visit court.”
Laareya was released on YouTube just three days ago and has already crossed 99,000 views. While the controversy continues to stir up reactions online, no official legal outcomes have been disclosed yet.
The situation has sparked a debate around digital consent and the ethical use of personal content in music and media. As the case unfolds, all eyes are now on how both parties will handle the legal proceedings.
