Ban on Fawad Khan’s ‘Abir Gulaal’ in India demanded after Pahalgam attack

After the Pahalgam incident, the release of Pakistani superstar Fawad Khan’s Bollywood film ‘Abir Gulaal’ has been in jeopardy.
At least 26 people, mostly tourists, were allegedly killed in an incident in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. After this incident, Fawad Khan and Indian actress Vani Kapoor’s film has come under severe criticism and there is a strong reaction against Pakistani artists in India.
The teaser of the film “Abir Gulaal” was released on April 1, the film, which was already under criticism, is now likely to be affected by its release and success as a boycott campaign has been launched on social media against the film.
Indian extremist circles are objecting to the casting of Fawad Khan in this film. Ashoke Pandit, president of the Film and Television Directors Association of India, opposed the release of the film, saying it was not just a film but a national security issue.
He said that working with Pakistani artists is not acceptable when the country is active against India. Not only this, he also questioned the participation of Pakistani artists in cricket matches and international shows.
