‘Please Just Let Me Breathe’: Alizeh Shah Addresses Death Rumours Following Social Media Exit

30 April, 2025 14:14

Pakistani showbiz starlet Alizeh Shah has addressed her false death rumours that had circulated online, asking both social and mainstream media to give her some much-needed space.

]The young actress, who briefly left Instagram earlier this week after changing her bio to ‘Not Dead,’ returned to the platform on Tuesday afternoon to address the ongoing rumours and their impact on her health.

In a heartfelt note shared on her Instagram stories, Shah revealed how the constant trolling, criticism, and negativity had taken a serious toll on her well-being. “The trolling, the constant criticism, the negativity didn’t just hurt me emotionally, it’s now affecting my physical health. It reached a point where I had no choice but to isolate myself completely, not just from social media, but from everyone around me,” she wrote.

The 24-year-old actress admitted feeling overwhelmed by the pressure, sharing, “I feel broken, exhausted, and overwhelmed in ways I can’t even explain.”

Alizeh Shah also addressed the persistent death rumours that had continued to spread, despite her clear statement that she was alive. “Even after updating my bio and clearly saying I’m alive, some people still chose to spread rumours. News channels have contacted my parents, asking if I’m dead. Imagine what that does to a family, to a mother’s heart,” she said. “Please, understand how much this has hurt me and the people I love.”

The actress, known for her role in Taqdeer, expressed uncertainty about her future in the public eye. “Right now, I genuinely don’t know when or if I’ll ever return to Instagram or TV dramas. The pressure became too much. The weight of it has made me physically sick. All I ask is for some space,” she said.

Concluding her message, Shah made a heartfelt plea to her followers and the media: “Please stop contacting my family. Please stop making up stories. Please just let me breathe.”
