YouTuber Rajab Butt Issues Apology Following Viral Assault Video in Lahore

18 May, 2025 11:48

Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt has issued an apology following the circulation of a viral video that allegedly showed him and a group of friends assaulting a man.

The video sparked widespread public outrage and caught the attention of local law enforcement.

Reports indicate the incident took place in Lahore, where Rajab Butt and his associates reportedly attacked a man sitting inside a vehicle. The footage rapidly spread across social media platforms, leading to heavy criticism from the public.

The individual identified as the victim is Shayan, who Rajab Butt reportedly assaulted. Imran, the car’s driver, supported Shayan and filed a formal complaint at the Satu Katla Police Station. It’s important to clarify that Shayan, not Imran, was the one assaulted during the altercation.

In his statement, Imran mentioned that the situation escalated when a motorcyclist was driving recklessly in front of his vehicle. Upon requesting the rider to stop, Rajab Butt and his companions allegedly blocked the road and began attacking Shayan without warning.

Imran also stated that he only took the matter to the police after the video of the assault gained viral attention.

Several sources claim that Rajab Butt and his group tried to persuade Imran to retract the complaint.

Later, a new video surfaced showing Rajab Butt apologizing to Shayan, describing the event as a “misunderstanding.”

According to Lahore Police, both parties have settled the situation. Rajab Butt has apologized, and Imran has officially withdrawn his complaint.

Rajab Butt previously faced backlash for launching a perfume named “295,” seen as a reference to Pakistan’s blasphemy law. The move sparked outrage from religious groups and led to a PECA case filed at Nishtar Colony Police Station.

The controversy intensified after Butt mentioned Sidhu Moose Wala’s blasphemy issues, prompting further criticism.

He later issued a public apology from Masjid-e-Haram, claiming his words were misinterpreted. He further added that a key part of his video was edited, which led to a fatwa.

Despite the apology, TLP leader Haider Ali Shah Gillani filed an FIR for hate speech, which could result in up to 10 years in prison. Amid growing pressure, Butt announced he would discontinue the “295” perfume and apologized for any offence caused.
