Hania Aamir’s Sardaar Ji 3 Breaks Records Overseas, Makes History in Pakistan
Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani female heartthrob Hania Aamir’s latest film, Sardaar Ji 3, has had a spectacular overseas debut, setting a new benchmark in Pakistan by recording the highest-ever opening day for an Indian film.
According to the reports, the film raked in over Rs350 million in Pakistan alone, surpassing the previous record held by Salman Khan’s Sultan, which was released nearly ten years ago.
Premiering on June 28, Sardaar Ji 3 earned more than Rs450 million globally on its first day, marking the biggest opening day for a Punjabi film in international markets.
However, the film did not see a release in India—neither theatrically nor on streaming platforms—which has significantly affected its overall commercial potential and impacted the Punjabi film industry at large.
The film has also stirred controversy in India due to the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir alongside Neeru Bajwa. While the move drew political backlash, it has sparked strong interest in Pakistan and among international audiences.
