Who is Atiqa Nawaz? TikToker arrested on drug trafficking charges

Police in Chakwal have arrested TikToker Atiqa Nawaz, also known as “Murshid,” on drug trafficking charges. Officers said they recovered 1,050 grams of crystal meth (ice) from her possession during a raid.

Police raided Rawalpindi Road after receiving a tip-off. Reports said the TikToker was caught red-handed while she was allegedly trying to sell drugs. A case has now been registered against her, and she has been taken into custody.

This arrest came just a day after police detained another suspected female drug dealer, Gulam Sughra alias Tania Shah, in Mohallah Kazimabad. She was later sent to jail on judicial remand.

Past Record of Atiqa Nawaz

Atiqa Nawaz is not new to such cases. On August 24, 2024, she was arrested with her associate Hafiz Muhammad Sagheer. Their car was stopped near the Peshawar Motorway, where officials recovered 14.5 kilograms of hashish. At that time, Nawaz was driving a rented car from Chakwal. She was later released on bail.

Police sources said the TikToker often drove herself and used her gender to avoid suspicion during drug smuggling. She has also faced another case in the past for allegedly abducting a man in her car.

Meanwhile, police said Tania Shah, who was also arrested this week, has been booked multiple times before. She faced charges of drug dealing and even running a brothel.
