The Truth Behind Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr. ‘Feud’ Rumors

The Truth Behind Ryan Reynolds and Robert Downey Jr. ‘Feud’ Rumors
Rumors have been spreading online about a supposed feud between Robert Downey Jr. and Ryan Reynolds during the making of Avengers: Doomsday. But insiders have now confirmed that the story is not true.
Downey, 60, is officially cast as Doctor Doom in the upcoming Marvel movie. However, there is no confirmation that Reynolds will return as Deadpool in the same project. Despite this, fans on social media started speculating after a podcaster claimed that two big actors had clashed on set.
The story grew quickly after international outlets like the Times of India, Hindustan Times, and Express Tribune reported on it. Many fans assumed the actors in question were Reynolds and Downey.
According to People Magazine, a source has said that there is “zero bad blood” between them. In fact, they have “never even met in person.” Another insider told TMZ that while they are not close, they know of each other and remain friendly.
This is not the first time the two stars have been linked together. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, Reynolds and Downey playfully teased each other during a Zoom charity event hosted by Joe and Anthony Russo. Downey sent Reynolds a clip saying “Eat me,” while Reynolds responded with a video of himself eating a cookie printed with Downey’s face.
The recent rumors started after podcaster Joe Rocha suggested that “two outspoken actors” had a disagreement on the Avengers: Doomsday set. He claimed that one actor made a joke that felt “too familiar,” which upset the other. Rocha said apologies were later exchanged and the issue was resolved.
Still, some online fans continue to believe that Reynolds and Downey were the pair involved, even though Reynolds has not been confirmed for the movie. Reynolds recently teased fans by posting an image on Instagram of the Avengers logo with a red “A” symbol, fueling speculation about his possible return.
Meanwhile, Downey is making his Marvel comeback in a completely new role. Instead of his iconic Iron Man, he will play Doctor Doom, which he revealed at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
Reynolds’ last big release was Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024, which became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Fans are still waiting to see if his Deadpool character will appear again in the next Avengers film.
For now, insiders stress that there is no feud, no drama, and no conflict between Robert Downey Jr. and Ryan Reynolds—just rumors blown out of proportion.
