Ayesha Omar Responds to Criticism of Her Upcoming Show Lazawal Ishq

September 18, 2025 – Pakistani actress and model Ayesha Omar has addressed criticism about her upcoming Urdu-language reality show Lazawal Ishq, which some labeled as a dating programme.

In a recent interview with The Current, the 43-year-old clarified that her project has been misinterpreted.

“Some are saying I called it a dating show, but that’s not true. I never said that,” Omar said, stressing that it is not inspired by Western formats like Love Island.

What is Lazawal Ishq Really About?

According to Ayesha Omar, the show is designed around meaningful conversations, cultural values, and long-term relationships that may lead to marriage.

The format will feature participants living in a villa in Turkey but with strict boundaries. Men and women will have separate dorms and floors, with common spaces like the lounge, kitchen, and poolside available for interaction.

“It’s a Turkish show adapted for our audience in line with our values,” the Bulbulay star explained.

A Social Experiment, Not a Dating Show

Omar emphasized that Lazawal Ishq should be seen as a social experiment. It highlights how young adults interact, learn from mistakes, and build meaningful bonds. No couples will be pre-assigned. Instead, connections will develop naturally as participants get to know each other.

Challenges and games will focus on communication and problem-solving, not dating activities.

She also pointed out that similar reality formats have been aired in Pakistan before and believes Lazawal Ishq will offer a positive and educational experience.

Sneak Peek of the Show

The teaser features Ayesha Omar at a luxury villa in Turkey, where four men and four women will stay. The series will stream exclusively on YouTube and is expected to have around 100 episodes. However, the official release date has not yet been announced.
