Diljit Dosanjh Criticizes India’s Hypocrisy by Comparing ‘Sardaar Ji 3’ With India-Pakistan Match

Punjabi singer, actor, and film producer Diljit Dosanjh, who also holds Canadian citizenship, is among the most popular entertainers with a fan base spread across the globe. In Pakistan, he enjoys a special kind of love, and his new film Sardaar Ji 3 has received an overwhelming response there.

During his ongoing Aura Tour, Dosanjh spoke openly about an issue that had troubled him for years. He revealed that when Sardaar Ji 3 was released, shortly after a conflict between India and Pakistan, he faced criticism.

Dosanjh clarified that the film had been shot long before the conflict. Despite this, people blamed him at the time. He described the attitude of the media and some officials as unfair and labeled it “hypocrisy.”

Drawing a comparison with cricket, Dosanjh pointed out that matches between India and Pakistan continue even after conflicts. However, when his film was released, controversy was created. “I kept these things inside me. I have not forgotten this behavior,” he told the audience during the concert.

The singer further explained that he had chosen to remain silent back then. He said he had answers to all the criticism but refrained from speaking. He also emphasized that he never acted against the nation.

“Even at that time, we condemned the attack and the attackers. We are Punjabis. We always stand by our country, India. We can never go against the nation,” Dosanjh stated.

His remarks have reignited debate over how artists are treated during political conflicts. Fans on both sides of the border have praised him for addressing the issue, while some say his comments highlight the double standards faced by entertainers.
