Veteran TV and film actor Pankaj Dheer, best known for his iconic role as Karna in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat, has passed away at the age of 68. He had been battling cancer for several years and reportedly suffered a relapse in recent months.
The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his Mahabharat co-star Firoz Khan (Arjun), who shared an emotional tribute on Instagram, remembering Pankaj Dheer as a kind colleague and a true gentleman.
Health Struggles and Final Days
According to reports, Pankaj Dheer underwent major surgery earlier, but the cancer returned a few months ago. In recent weeks, his health deteriorated significantly.
The CINTAA (Cine & TV Artistes’ Association) issued an official statement expressing deep sorrow:
“With profound grief, we announce the passing of Shri Pankaj Dheer ji on 15th October 2025. The cremation will be held today at 4:30 p.m. in Mumbai.”
Despite health issues, Pankaj Dheer remained active on television.
He was last seen in the show Ajooni on Star Bharat, where he played a dual role. His character, Gyaneshwar Singh, was widely appreciated for its depth and warmth.
Throughout his career, he appeared in numerous TV serials and films, earning respect for his professionalism and discipline.
