Earlier this week, a local court issued summons for YouTuber Saad-ur-Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, along with his wife and co-accused Aroob Jatoi, and his manager Subhan, in connection with a case involving the alleged promotion of an online gambling application.
The proceedings took place at the District Courts (Zila Kachehri) before Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo, where Ducky Bhai appeared personally. Although no judgment has been announced yet, the court adjourned the hearing until November 3, thereby dispelling social media claims suggesting that the YouTuber had been sentenced to seven years in prison and fined PKR 10 million.
Last month, the same local court had rejected Rehman’s post-arrest bail application. Judicial Magistrate Wattoo delivered the verdict after listening to arguments from both parties. The defence contended that the case was politically driven and devoid of credible evidence, whereas the prosecution asserted that Rehman had accumulated millions through the gambling applications.
Arrested by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on August 17, Ducky Bhai remains in judicial custody as the court has instructed that the investigation continue.
