Bollywood Star Shah Rukh Khan Inaugurates Tower Named After Him

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan turned a real-estate event into a lively fan moment on Thursday in Mumbai.

The event marked the launch of a new 55-storey tower in Dubai, named Shahrukhz By Danube, by Dubai businessman Rizwan Sajan. SRK attended the unveiling, bringing fans’ excitement to the event.

SRK, 60, joked that he now appears in public “like the Eid moon,” and delivered several witty one-liners, earning whistles and cheers from the crowd. He said the honour would have made his late mother proud. “When I take my kids to Dubai, I’ll tell them, ‘Look, that’s your papa’s building,’ even though it belongs to Rizwan bhai,” he added humorously.

The actor also revealed he first thought the event would happen in Dubai, but Sajan insisted on Mumbai, saying India will always remain close to his heart.

The tower is being promoted not only as office space but also as a tourist attraction in Dubai. Sajan’s son, Adel, explained it will feature a helipad and an air-taxi station, as Dubai prepares for flying taxis in 2026.

A statue of Shah Rukh Khan in his iconic pose will greet visitors at the entrance, with developers hoping fans will line up for photos, much like they do outside SRK’s home, Mannat, in Mumbai.

The event highlighted the actor’s immense popularity and the blending of Bollywood glamour with Dubai’s modern architecture.
