Indian Actress Girija Oak Reveals She Receives Messages From Men After Her Viral Deepfake Photos

Indian actress Girija Oak, who recently became famous for her blue saree look, has spoken out about the unwanted attention she got after deepfake images of her started spreading online. The Taare Zameen Par actress shared that the sudden fame brought both praise and troubling messages from strangers.

Girija became an internet sensation after clips from a recent interview went viral on social media. While many people appreciated her work, she also received uncomfortable direct messages from men.

In an interview with News18, Girija said she has learned how to deal with the negative side of fame. “Over time, you grow thick-skinned. I started acting when I was very young, and now I’ve been in the industry for about 20-25 years. When certain things happen, you just take them with a pinch of salt,” she explained.

She admitted that the recent attention did affect her. “This time, I would be lying if I said it didn’t affect me at all. I’m not insensitive or heartless. I’m human, and things do get to me. But eventually, you find ways to handle it and deal with it. What sometimes shocks me is the sense of entitlement some men have when sending messages. It’s almost funny. I don’t know what else to say about it,” she said.

Girija is known for her work in Marathi, Hindi, and Kannada films, including Gulmohar, Lajja, Navra Maza Bhavra, and House Full. She also starred in the TV show Ladies Special and in several web series like Modern Love: Mumbai, 13th: Some Lessons Aren’t Taught in Classrooms, and Inspector Zende, opposite Manoj Bajpayee.

Although Girija continues to gain attention on social media, her latest comments reveal the emotional toll that comes with sudden viral fame.
