Smriti Mandhana, Palash Muchhal add ‘evil eye’ emoji as wedding postponement rumours grow

Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal have added the evil eye emoji to their Instagram bios. This is their first quiet reaction after many rumours started spreading when their wedding was postponed.

The couple was supposed to get married on November 23rd in Sangli, Maharashtra. But the ceremony was put on hold after Smriti’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, had a health emergency and was taken to the hospital. Soon after, Palash was also briefly hospitalised because of emotional stress.

Smriti Deletes Wedding Posts

After the postponement, Smriti removed all her wedding-related posts from social media. This led to many rumours online, including false and unverified claims of infidelity.

To stop these rumours from growing, Palash’s sister, singer Palak Muchhal, posted a clarification on Instagram. She stated, “Due to Smriti’s dad’s health, Smriti and Palash’s wedding has been put on hold. Would request all of you to respect the privacy of the families in this sensitive time.”

Both families have repeatedly said that the delay happened only because of health concerns and that they are focusing on Mr. Mandhana’s recovery.

Family Speaks Up

Palash’s mother, Amita Muchhal, also reassured fans. She said, “Smriti and Palash dono takleef mein hain … Everything will be fine, shaadi bohot jaldi hogi.”

Couple’s Subtle Message

Fans believe the matching evil eye emoji in their Instagram bios is a simple way for the couple to show they are still together and are trying to block the negativity around their relationship.

Both families continue to emphasize that the wedding was postponed purely for health reasons, and the priority right now is Mr. Mandhana’s well-being.
