Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant has recently shared intimate details about her spiritual journey and experiences with Islam. In a candid conversation, she discussed how she learned to offer prayers (namaz) through YouTube and how she regularly performs Tahajjud prayers in the quiet of the night. She encouraged young people to stay consistent in their prayer routines, emphasizing the importance of regular spiritual practices.
Speaking on a podcast, Rakhi explained the structure of daily prayers in Islam. “Fajr consists of two units (rakats), Zuhr and Asr have four each, Maghrib has three, and Isha has four obligatory rakats,” she said, outlining the daily ritual followed by millions of Muslims worldwide.
Rakhi also spoke about the significance of reciting the Kalima, which expresses the belief that there is only one Lord of all the worlds. Reflecting on her own spiritual experiences, the actress shared that after embracing Islam, she performed Umrah six times. One of her most poignant memories was praying at the Holy Kaaba, where she asked Allah why she had been born into a Hindu family.
She explained that “Allah gives birth to whomever He wills and wherever He wills,” emphasizing the idea that humans should constantly seek the truth as life itself is a test. Rakhi also offered advice to those facing challenges or emotional pain. She recommended waking up at 3 a.m. to perform Tahajjud prayers, describing how it brings peace to the heart and helps alleviate sorrow. She added that while Allah is very close to humans, many often become distracted and inclined toward Satan.
Rakhi Sawant began 2025 by performing Umrah, marking the start of the year with a significant spiritual act. Having embraced Islam two years ago, she married Indian Muslim Adil Durrani, changing her name to Fatima. While her marriage did not last, Rakhi has remained steadfast in her commitment to living according to Islamic teachings. Despite personal challenges, she continues to prioritize her spiritual growth and connection with her faith.
