Bollywood’s beloved couple, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, continue to capture hearts, both as co-stars and life partners. After dating for several years, the duo married in 2018 and are now proud parents to their baby girl, Dua Padukone Singh.
Recently, Deepika shared insights into how it felt to distance herself from Ranveer temporarily due to their individual professional commitments, reflecting on the challenges of maintaining balance between work and personal life.
When separation rumors surfaced
Speculation about a possible rift in their marriage first emerged in 2022, when an unverified tweet claimed the couple was facing troubles. Ranveer quickly addressed the buzz at an event, reminding everyone that they had met in 2012 and had spent a decade together by 2022, effectively quelling the rumors.
Concerns resurfaced in 2025 when Ranveer briefly deleted photos with Deepika from his Instagram. Fans worried about a potential split, but it was later clarified that his social media activity, including a cross-sword post captioned 12:12, was linked to his upcoming film Dhurandhar rather than his personal life.
Deepika speaks on the distance
In a recent interview, Deepika discussed the first time she and Ranveer experienced professional separation. “He’s always been supportive of my work and it’s actually a bit strange because when we met, we were doing films together and then, his first film post-Padmaavat was actually Gully Boy. So it felt different for me to be like ‘Okay, now you’re doing a film and I’m not in it’ and then, I had a release in which he wasn’t there. So it took some time to get used to that because our first interaction with each other was as co-stars. It took us a while to disconnect from that and be able to understand each other as actors, without being in that film.”
Despite numerous rumors over the years, the couple has always remained each other’s strongest support system, proving why they are regarded as one of Bollywood’s ultimate power couples.
Deepika and Ranveer first met on the sets of Ram-Leela in 2012, fell in love during the shoot, and eventually tied the knot six years later.
