Prince Harry’s Ex Held for Allegedly Skipping Hotel Bill

Prince Harry’s former girlfriend has been arrested for leaving a hotel in Majorca without paying a bill. Reality TV star Catherine Ommanney, 53, was reportedly arrested on Sunday on suspicion of fraud after a hotel manager at the Playas del Rey Hotel in Santa Ponsa claimed she had not settled her €500 (£434) bill for a nine-day stay.

Catherine, an interior designer by profession, is also known as one of the five original main cast members of the first season of The Real Housewives of DC. According to reports by the Majorcan newspaper Ultima Hora, she was allegedly using a card with no funds at the time of the hotel incident.

After her arrest, Catherine appeared before a judge yesterday evening in the Majorcan capital, Palma. During the hearing, she reportedly spoke about her past romantic encounters with Prince Harry, claiming they shared passionate moments when he was 21 and she was 34.  But she was released pending an ongoing investigation.

It remained unclear this morning whether she had provided any explanation for the incident in court. She was seen leaving a court holding cell around 7pm yesterday, escorted by a Civil Guard officer, as she was taken to a closed-door hearing.

Catherine has not commented publicly following her release from custody, and it is still unclear exactly where she was arrested.

Previously, in November 2022, she spoke to Sun on about her short-lived relationship with Harry in 2006, which began after they met at a bar. She explained that she did not expect this brief relationship to be featured in Harry’s memoir, Spare. She said:

“It was clear he wasn’t a virgin when we met. He was 21 and very sure of himself. He was a great kisser and obviously knew what he was doing. He lifted me off the floor in a way that no man has ever done to me before or since – and Harry knew how to treat a woman. He was very giving, very passionate, lovely, and a total gentleman.”

Catherine, a mother of three, also claimed she used to call Harry “baby” because he had a habit of sucking on lollipops:

“I do believe he enjoyed my company because I’m a little bit older and wiser and not like the 20-year-olds he had been hanging out with. I had the patience to listen to what he said and give him advice on life. Harry was surrounded by young women who would throw themselves at him, and I think he was searching for something deeper and more meaningful with someone wiser.”

She added:

“That’s maybe why he found me attractive. I didn’t realise what the age gap was because it wasn’t important to me.”

According to Catherine, the relationship fizzled out after just a few meetings, although they remained “friendly” when they ran into each other again at a polo match in 2009.
