Who Is Abhishek Jadhav? Payal Gaming Deepfake Video Creator Arrested

13 January, 2026 11:11

WEB DESK (January 13, 2026) — Maharashtra Cyber officials have arrested Abhishek Jadhav, the man accused of creating a viral AI-generated deepfake video involving Indian gaming star Payal Gaming (Payal Dhare).

The fake video, titled “Payal Gaming Dubai MMS”, was around 19 minutes long and spread rapidly on social media. Payal later confirmed the clip was not real and sought help from cybercrime authorities.

How Police Tracked Abhishek Jadhav

Maharashtra Cyber registered FIR No. 52/2025 under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology Act.

Charges include:

  • Online defamation

  • Identity fraud

  • Circulation of sexually explicit material

Cyber officials also shared images of legal notices on their official Instagram account.

Abhishek Jadhav’s Identity

Investigators confirmed that Abhishek Jadhav created the fake video using AI tools. He later revealed his own identity in a public apology video.

His Instagram handle is reported as “dobiga”. Authorities say he admitted to uploading the video and spreading it online.

Public Apology Video

In a video shared by Maharashtra Cyber, Abhishek apologized to Payal Gaming and the cybercrime unit. He admitted using AI technology to create the deepfake and said he regretted his actions.

He acknowledged that the video caused serious harm and unwanted attention.

Why Payal Gaming Was Targeted

The fake video falsely claimed Payal leaked an intimate clip from Dubai. Officials say the content was made only to attract views and online engagement.

Payal rose to massive popularity in late 2025 after appearing in the stands during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final between India and Australia in Dubai. She was widely dubbed the “viral girl.”

On December 17, 2025, Payal posted on Instagram clarifying that the video was fake. She described it as deeply hurtful and dehumanising and announced legal action against AI misuse.

Growing Concern Over Deepfake Abuse

Payal is not alone. Other influencers have faced similar attacks. YouTuber Sweet Zannat also had her deepfake creator identified.

Reality TV stars Sakshi Shrivas and Justin D’Cruz were linked to another viral MMS case, though no official updates have been shared yet.

These incidents highlight rising concerns over AI misuse, privacy violations, and online harassment, especially targeting public figures.
