Why Brooklyn Beckham Refuses to Reconcile With Parents: Is Nicola Peltz Involved?

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, 26, has publicly confirmed his estrangement from his parents, David Beckham (50) and Victoria Beckham (51), citing years of family conflict following his marriage to Nicola Peltz Beckham. The tensions reportedly stem from long-standing disputes over control, public image, and the Beckhams’ treatment of Nicola. Brooklyn released a detailed statement on January 19, 2026, addressing the issues and explaining his decision to step away.

On Instagram, Brooklyn accused his parents of manipulation and attempting to sabotage his marriage, declaring:

“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed. I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”

Brooklyn also dismissed claims that his wife controls him, asserting that his parents exercised excessive control over his life, leading to “overwhelming anxiety.” He added:

“The narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards. I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety…I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”

He further alleged that his parents pressured him to sign away rights to his name weeks before his 2022 wedding, which would have affected Nicola and their future children:

“Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children. They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since.”

Brooklyn also accused Victoria Beckham of interfering in his wedding, saying she “hijacked” his first dance, forced his wife to find a last-minute wedding dress, and invited his ex-girlfriends to family events to make Nicola uncomfortable. He claimed David Beckham excluded Nicola from his 50th birthday, further cementing the rift.

According to Brooklyn, despite attempts to help Nicola integrate into the family, the Beckhams’ actions have made reconciliation impossible, leaving him focused on a peaceful life with his wife.
