SS Rajamouli’s Movie Varanasi Will Release in 2027

The Telugu film industry is making one of its most ambitious and expensive projects at the moment. While the film is still under production, rumours on social media about its postponement have been circulating. However, director SS Rajamouli has officially confirmed that Varanasi is all set to release in 2027.

After Baahubali and RRR received massive hype from audiences, Varanasi is expected to be SS Rajamouli’s next biggest project. The film stars superstars Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran, and is expected to become a huge success in every way.

Although the teaser is not new and was released earlier, it has gained renewed attention for its dramatic visuals. The footage, shot in Varanasi, showcases a massive action sequence with high-speed slow-motion details such as swirling embers and rippling muscles, making the short teaser instantly viral. The main highlight is that the team has now confirmed a 2027 release for the film.

On Wednesday, an X post from the official page shared a clip featuring scenes from Trethayuga, Lanka Nagaram, 7200 BCE. Hanuman and people can be seen waging war. The clip ends with singers chanting “Rama” in chorus.

The X announcement has affirmed rumours about a possible Ram Navami 2027 release for Varanasi. It is being speculated that the official release date will be announced by the makers on January 26 via social media.
