Bad Bunny Hands Grammy to Young Fan During Super Bowl Halftime, Clarifying It’s Not ICE‑Detained Liam Ramos
Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny made history as the first Spanish musician to perform at the NFL Super Bowl halftime show, delivering a vibrant 15-minute spectacle that lit up Levi’s Stadium. His high-energy performance featured celebrity cameos from Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, and Karol G, turning the stage into a pulsating dance party.
During the show, Bad Bunny created a poignant moment that has since gone viral. While performing amid a sugarcane-themed set and dancers, he bent down to a young boy in the audience and handed him his recently won Grammy. Many viewed this gesture as Bunny’s way of inspiring younger generations. On X, one user commented:
“The little boy, Bad Bunny, gave the Grammy to resemble Liam Ramos. Wouldn’t be surprised is it was intentional.”
However, the boy in question is not Liam Ramos, the five-year-old who was detained by ICE in January while walking home from school in Columbia Heights, Minnesota. Despite speculation and misreporting by some outlets, The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Liam Ramos was not featured in Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl halftime performance.
Bad Bunny’s halftime show ended with a powerful message displayed on the Levi’s Stadium screens: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” He concluded the performance holding a football inscribed with “Together, We Are America.” Fans praised Bunny for delivering a socially conscious and heartfelt statement.
The rapper has consistently used his platform to advocate for social justice. While accepting his 2026 Grammy Award for Best Musica Urbana Album, he stated:
“Before I say thanks to God, I’m going to say ICE out. We’re not savages, we’re not animals, we’re not aliens, we are humans and we are Americans. The hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love. So we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them. We love our people. We love our family, and that’s the way to do it with love. Don’t forget that, please. Thank you.”
