Cynthia Erivo Addresses Relationship Rumors With Ariana Grande

Musical film series Wicked’s co-star Cynthia Erivo has he first time directly spoken about rumors of a clandestine romance with Ariana Grande.

In spite of these extremely deep-rooted evidences, chatter has stuck that Cynthia and Ariana — who, of course you are aware, were co-stars in Wicked and the sequel Wicked: For Good — are in some kind of a romantic tangle together.

Speaking with Stylist Magazine, Cynthia confirmed that her and Ariana’s relationship is entirely friendly.

“At first, I think people didn’t understand how it was possible for two women to be friends—close—and not lovers,” she told the magazine. “I’ve never really spoken about this but there was this strange fascination with the two of us, where people either thought we were putting it on for the cameras or that we were lovers. And I think it’s because there’s such little conversation around platonic female friendship that is deep and real.”

Cynthia added, “We’re no used to seeing it on camera in front of people. A relationship where people are connected sometimes just makes people uncomfortable; we aren’t taught that those relationships are good for us.”

Earlier while speaking on Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast, Ariana also confessed that she needed her co-star and friend’s hand during press tours.

she told the host, “I channel a lot of energy through my hands. And so, I’m always holding a hand.”

Ariana added, “I like to channel support and energy… I didn’t even notice that it was a thing about me until that thing happened.”
