Leighton Meester Opens Up How Valentine’s Day After Marriage

Leighton Meester after being married to Adam Brody for almost 12 years, now the Valentine’s Day feels different.

Recently in the People interview, the Guarding Stars actress described a contrast between what February 14 has taken on a deeper meaning for her as a parent, reflected on how the holiday now feels more inclusive and less stressful than when she was growing up.

Meester said, who shares a daughter, Arlo, born in 2015, and a son, born in 2020, with Brody, “With my kids, there’s this nostalgic little cereal box where they get Valentine’s cards, and everyone’s included. It’s really great,”

“It’s not how I did it in the ’90s, which was that you would hope you’d get one from someone you liked. That’s not how they do it nowadays, thankfully,” She added.

The first meeting of Leighton and Adam on the set of Oranges, and they exposed their relationship to the public in February 2013. The duo got engaged at the same year and got married at February 2014.

After a several years of marriage, Meester shared her view about love and Valentine’s Day has matured now, she describes that long-lasting relationship bring a quieter, but covered with the meaning to the holiday, particularly as her wedding anniversary falls close to February 14

During the interview Meester tells the People that at the meantime my view of Valentine’s Day now different.

She said “Being married and in a romantic relationship over so many years, it takes on such an intimate, different meaning,” The Buccaneers star explains. “I think it grows and expands, and it just feels even more and more meaningful over time.”

“My [wedding] anniversary is near Valentine’s Day too, so that whole season is meaningful to me,” adds Meester.

Beyond romance, Meester said love shows up differently across all relationships—with children, partners, friends and family. She called it central to life itself.
