Sarwat Gilani Open Up About Faith and Female Empowerment

 A famous Pakistani actress Sarwat Gilani also known for her best and fabulous performances and intense script selections. Her best acting skills make lots of dramas hit and popular including Azar ki Ayegi Baraat, Mere Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley, Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Zakhm, Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu, Mann Piyasa, Seeta Baagri, and Khasara.

Recently, she appeared on Nariman Ansari’s YouTube show Begam Baygham, sharing her experience and thoughts on perceptions of modernity and religiosity, an unusual encounter with a fan while performing Umrah in Makkah and Madina disturbed her very much.

Talking about it, Sarwat Gilani said, “It’s so funny that people say, ‘You look so modern and fast what do you have to do with religion?’ There was a time when I was performing Umrah in Makkah or Madina. I was going somewhere when a fan stopped me and said, ‘Oh my God, are you Sarwat Gilani? What are you doing here?’ There is this concept that if you are a ‘fast’ girl who wears jeans or pants, you can’t be a religious person. But Allah says everyone is answerable for themselves.”

During the conversation in the show Sarwat highlighted that the personal faith is an individual matter in a responded way of that unusual question form the fan, she said “There’s this idea that if someone wears jeans or dresses in a modern way, they cannot be religious. But Allah holds each person accountable for themselves, not based on appearances.”

Sarwat Gilani also mirrored that this type of encounter increases the misunderstandings lot of people think about the celebs. Her response created buzz on social media, and in the result of sharing her view her fans praising her honesty and perception on harmonizing public life with personal faith.
