Shikhar Dhawan Marries Sophie Shine in Private Delhi Ceremony

In a small, private ceremony on Saturday, former India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan wed Sophie Shine, capping weeks of excitement after their engagement in January.

Dhawan chose a small, intimate gathering in the Delhi-NCR area rather than the usual large star spectacle. Members of the immediate family as well as a few close cricketing friends attended the wedding. Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal delighted fans who have been following Dhawan’s journey by posting pictures of the groom, which led to the first views of the wedding becoming viral.

Even though Shikhar Dhawan is well-known in India, many admirers are interested in his new spouse. Born in Ireland, Sophie graduated from the Limerick Institute of Technology with a degree in marketing and management. She is currently employed with Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi as the second vice president. The 40-year-old cricket player is getting married for the second time. Prior to their October 2023 divorce, Dhawan was married to Aesha Mukherjee for eleven years. There was much dancing and laughter during the pre-wedding celebrations, which included the Haldi and Sangeet.
