Hamza Ali Abbasi Denies Involvement in FIA Money Laundering Case Linked to Sister
Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has clarified his position after media reports linked his name to a Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) money laundering case involving his sister, Dr Fazeela Abbasi. The actor firmly denied any involvement, stating that he is neither part of the investigation nor connected to the case in any way.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Hamza addressed the speculation, saying:
“I am not under any investigation by any agency, nor am I part of this case in any capacity,”
He emphasized that recent coverage had created a misleading impression about his association with the case, which he described as inaccurate.
Hamza also spoke in support of his sister, calling her “a highly accomplished professional” with “her own extremely successful career.” While expressing confidence in her integrity, he added that “her side of the story deserves to be heard” and hoped that due process would ensure justice and that “the truth will prevail.”
At the same time, the actor made it clear that her legal matters are entirely separate from him. He stated that since he is not a party to the case, he should not be expected to comment further. Referring to the matter as sub judice, Hamza noted that it is up to his sister to decide “if and when she chooses to comment or share her perspective.”
Reiterating his stance, Hamza stressed that he has “no involvement in this case at all” and warned that continued association of his name with the matter in media reports could lead to legal action.
The case involving Dr Fazeela Abbasi, a well-known dermatologist, revolves around alleged financial irregularities. According to the FIR, approximately Rs25 billion was reportedly traced through 22 bank accounts linked to her, with some transactions allegedly routed to Dubai and the United States. Investigators have questioned the scale of these transactions in comparison to her declared annual income.
The case had earlier been closed by the Islamabad High Court but has resurfaced after a sessions court reopened proceedings following the cancellation of Dr Fazeela’s interim bail. Authorities are currently continuing their investigation into the source of the funds.
Both Hamza Ali Abbasi and Dr Fazeela Abbasi are prominent figures in Pakistan, known respectively for their contributions to the entertainment industry and aesthetic medicine.
