Who Is Reet Padda? Aneet Padda’s Sister Goes Viral After Calling ‘Dhurandhar 2’ “Propaganda”
Reet Padda, the sister of actress Aneet Padda, has recently gained widespread attention on social media following her controversial remarks about the film Dhurandhar 2.
Reet, who is known to maintain a low public profile, shared her views on social media after the film’s premiere, where she described it as “propaganda”. Her comments quickly went viral, sparking intense debate and drawing both criticism and support from online users.
Professionally, Reet Padda is based in Paris and works as a customer success manager. According to her LinkedIn profile, she has experience in marketing strategy, campaign planning, market research, and client relations. Despite her connection to the entertainment industry through her sister, she has largely stayed away from the spotlight.
At the time of posting her review, Reet had a modest social media following. However, as her remarks spread online, she became the target of trolling and negative feedback. The backlash led her to make her social media accounts private, and currently, most of her online presence appears to be inactive or removed.
The controversy began when Reet responded to a comment discussing Dhurandhar 2, grouping it with films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story. She stated, “First, about calling films like The Kashmir Files, The Kerala Story, and Dhurandhar propaganda. Dhurandhar functions as a government-friendly narrative, using political speeches to justify events like demonetization. Is it propaganda? Yes. Can I deny it? No.”
In addition to her film critique, Reet also drew attention for comments about actress Priyanka Chopra. She criticized Chopra for not speaking out on political issues, referencing a moment at the 2026 Oscars where the actress appeared alongside Javier Bardem.
Reet wrote, “Priyanka had an opportunity to oppose an illegal war while standing next to someone who took a stand, but she couldn’t even clap. If my sister were in that position, I’d hope she rises to the occasion. If she doesn’t, I’ll be the first to call her out.”
The incident she referred to involved Bardem expressing support for Palestine during the ceremony, while Chopra remained silent on stage, which had already triggered widespread online discussion at the time.
The episode highlights how social media commentary by individuals connected to public figures can quickly gain traction and lead to broader public debate, especially on politically sensitive topics.
