Sohail Ahmed Explains His Statement on Imam Hussain (R.A) & Yazeed After Criticism

Veteran Pakistani host, actor and comedian sparkling on social media on his statements where he spoke against about Imran Khan. Also, previously, there was a event where he spoke about,  getting popularity is not that hard, during statement he addressed about Hussain R.A & Yazeed popularity, where he compared the popularity of both Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A.) and Yazeed equally.

Earlier, Sohail Ahmed appeared in an event, where he said, “It isn’t a big deal to be popular, you can get popularity in any way like a girl has recently gotten fame after doing a slow motion dance. What is popularity? Hussain R.A & Yazeed were equally popular.”

Social media users flooded the comment section with anger, complaining Sohail Ahmed. Many said he should never have made such a comparison in the first place, as Hazrat Imam Hussain is a highly respected and revered Islamic figure, while Yazid is widely viewed in a negative light for the brutal killing of innocent Muslims who stood up for their rights.

In response of this backlash Sohail Ahmed make a video in which he clarifies himself and said:

“A clip of me from a function is deliberately being circulated on social media where I was seen saying that both Hussain (R.A.) and Yazeed were equally popular. Yes, it is another story that one is respected and the other is cursed, but it didn’t mean that you should stand with Yazeed. I was requesting the kids to stand with the Hussaini caravan so that people will remember you for good deeds. Now such clips are being made viral deliberately for the sake of politics—don’t do that. They are trying to tarnish my image. Don’t use religion. I can give my life for Hazrat Imam Hussain; my children and I can sacrifice our lives for it. Have fear of God, please.”
