Married at First Sight UK cast member arrested amid rape investigation

UK reality show Married at First Sight’ cast member has been arrested on suspicion of rape.

The individual has not been named, and has been bailed while enquiries continue, according to the Metropolitan Police.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the suspect’s name is not revealed yet, and remains on bail while the investigation is underway.

The victim’s name same as not revealed as per under UK law, which legally protects the identity of anyone alleging rape by granting them lifelong anonymity.

The hit show aired in May news reported form BBC Panorama investigation.

The show revealed rape allegations from two female cast members against men they had met through the programme.

A third woman alleged a non-consensual sex act, while all men involved in the claims have denied the allegations against them.

Following the airing of document, police asked anyone who have been sexually assaulted while filming in Married at First Sight UK to get in touch with investigators.

The Metropolitan Police said: “This relates to an ongoing investigation, being led by the Met Police. He has since been bailed while enquiries remain ongoing,” according to the statement of BBC news.

The niche of this reality show is MAFS, means singles paired with complete strangers, and married them after first meeting at the platform.

Billed as a social experiment, the UK version of MAFS has been running for 10 seasons and is one of Channel 4’s most successful shows, regularly getting over three million viewers.

The episodes of the latest series is all stopped which has already been filmed by channel which is mainly streaming in May due to Panorama investigation, and yet to confirm when will be air.

Channel 4 launched a commission from the welfare of participants on the show, which the broadcaster has said is due to be finished later this summer.
