Prince Harry Returns to UK Without Meghan and Children Amid Security Concerns
The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, has arrived in the UK, GB News reported, marking another visit to his home country.
As per reports, the US based royal again back to UK without his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, amid concerns for his safety.
Reports further added, “It remains undecided whether the Duchess of Sussex, Archie and Lilibet will join Harry later in the week for the parts of his visit outside London.”
Hours before Harry arrived in the UK, a sharp statement from his spokesperson, who hit back at Buckingham Palace over its denial that the Duke of Sussex would be staying at the London residence.
According to the royal source stated on Monday that Prince Harry cannot stay at Buckingham Palace this week after he failed to accept an invitation in time.
This time, Harry planned to made this trip with his two children as it their first visit to Britain in four years, but on Saturday his spokesperson said Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, would not be coming to London. The family failed to agree a security deal with the government.
The cancelled family trip and uncertain accommodation preparations specify that his struggles to reestablish connections with the royal family have seen little success. The Duke of Sussex has lived in California with Meghan since 2020.
As per palace source, Harry failed to respond by the required deadline to an invitation to stay at a royal residence, even repeated attempts to give staff enough time to prepare.
The source added, the prince then formally declined the invite, before later changing his mind.
A spokesperson for Harry explained that, Harry was unable to confirm the accommodation offer straight away because he was making other security arrangements, after the government’s decision not to provide him with official protection.
This visit is meant to participate in several charity engagements across London and Birmingham.
In addition to his visit, Harry will be in the UK due to awaiting the verdict in his court case against the publisher of the Daily Mail, over allegations of unlawful conduct.
