Princess Kate's Royal Visit to Children's Hospital Overshadowed by Mystery Graze
On Monday 6 July 2026, Princess Kate visited Evelina London children’s hospital as a part of royal duty, and audience spotted mystery injury seen with a light graze on her leg while meeting with patients and staff at the UK’s most renowned medical facility.
The future queen looked glamorous in a white buttoned shirt dress from Suzannah London which had a split at the knee, at one point revealing a small graze as the fabric moved in the wind. As she’s been very active in recent weeks at the Three Peaks mountain-climbing challenge, so it’d be difficult to find out from where she got this cut.
Also, Kate was wearing a bracelet which appeared to be made from string, made for her by her daughter Princess Charlotte when she undertook her recent Three Peaks Challenge.
Kate was visiting the hospital to learn about its new plans to transform it into London’s most comprehensive and integrated children’s hospital. During the visit, the Princess of Wales met a ten-year-old Ejran, a cardiac patient, who asked her if she were the Queen and chatted about a poem he has written about Shrek.
“Are you the queen?” asked the patient. Thee wife of heir to the throne, Prince William, responded, “I am Princess of Wales.

Later, A statement issued by Kensington Palace said, “A visit to Evelina London Children’s Hospital to see how specialist expertise, compassionate care and family-centred support are helping children and their loved ones through some of life’s most challenging moments.”
The statement added, “From innovative cardiac services to plans for a new children’s hospital and future cancer centre, it was inspiring to meet the dedicated teams, patients and families helping shape the next generation of children’s healthcare.”
The future Queen is the hospital’s patron and has visited several times over the years to get updates about its progress and last made a trip in 2023 to open its children’s day centre.
