Saba Faisal’s Divorce Remarks Spark Debate Among Celebrities and Fans

Pakistani actress Saba Faisal has sparked a debate after sharing her views on how families once reacted when a daughter went through a divorce.

During a recent television appearance, Saba recalled that families in the past would observe a period of “soog” after a daughter’s marriage ended. She said fathers could feel deeply ashamed and struggle to face people after their daughter’s divorce.

Her remarks instantly received reaction from fellow industry artists Zoya Nasir and Hira Khan.

Zoya sturdily differed with the Saba’s view of divorce, calling it “dangerous and twisted.” Her response look into the idea that parents should feel ashamed because their daughter’s marriage has ended.

Reacting to the discussion, Zoya wrote: “Oh. My. God. I have SO much to say! With all due respect, What a dangerous and twisted narrative.”

Hira Khan also criticized Saba’s remarks and challenged the comparison between divorce and deep family grief. She argued against the idea that parents should lower their heads because of their daughter’s separation.

Hira wrote: “Janazay uthanay se behtar hain maa baap apne sir jhuka lein.” She followed the statement by saying that she had expressed her view before and would say it again, adding that Saba Faisal “needs help.”
