White-ball head coach Gary Kirsten has joined the Pakistan team in Leeds ahead of the first ODI against England on Wednesday.

The Men in Green will play four T20Is during the tour against the defending champions England before the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.

Kirsten’s appointment is seen as a strategic move to enhance Pakistan’s preparations and performance in the upcoming series and the World Cup.

The former South Africa batter was warmly welcomed by the team management and captain Babar Azam.

In a symbolic gesture, senior manager Wahab Riaz presented Kirsten with the team’s training shirt, marking the beginning of his tenure with the squad.

The team will commence their practice sessions at Headingley, Leeds, with rigorous training scheduled from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM local time on May 20.

The final training session before the first T20I is slated for Tuesday, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Pakistan has been drawn into Group A of the World Cup, where they will face off against arch-rivals India, along with Ireland, Canada, and the USA. On the other hand, England will compete in Group B, which includes formidable opponents such as Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman.
