Government vows to strengthen national economy.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has reiterated the government’s resolve to strengthen national economy and overcome inflation in the country.

He said while talking to MNAs belonging to Hazara Division, who called on him in Islamabad today (Thursday).

He said the government has chalked out a comprehensive strategy to promote tourism, create job opportunities for the youth, and provide immediate relief to the downtrodden segment of society.

The Prime Minister directed the concerned quarters that price control committees should be constituted at union councils’ level to check prices of various commodities.

Meanwhile, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh chaired a meeting in Islamabad today.

The meeting discussed issues pertaining to the power sector.

It also discussed various proposals, including uniform power tariff for the consumers for a period of 12 to 18 months to save them from the inflationary pressures.

The Finance Adviser asked the Energy Division to take input from other stakeholders as well to build a final proposal with the objective of saving the energy consumers from inflationary pressures.

He also directed them for providing ease by gradual reduction in the prevailing tariffs.
