The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has once again increased the prices of electricity tariff in the country.

About Rs2.83 per unit has been increased under the monthly fuel adjustment of March, read the notification.

The increase in electricity prices will be applicable in this month’s bills, while the price hike will not be applicable to Lifeline and K-Electric consumers.

The prices were revised on the request of the Central Power Purchasing Agency.

The increase in prices will put an additional burden of about Rs26 billion on consumers, including sales tax.
