ICC suspends Sri Lanka’s membership

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has suspended Sri Lanka’s membership. ICC says that the International Cricket Council Board has decided to immediately suspend Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka has been suspended due to government interference.
The ICC further informed that the board meeting agreed that Sri Lanka Cricket’s affairs are in violation of ICC rules, the terms and conditions of the suspension and termination will be decided soon. It should be noted that Sri Lankan Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe dismissed the Cricket Board due to the poor performance of the Sri Lankan cricket team in the ICC World Cup. According to foreign news agencies, relations with the board were strained over allegations of corruption by the sports minister, and the Sri Lankan board was sacked after a humiliating defeat by India.
