cipher case : Imran Khan calls Ex General & US envoy for witnesses in trial

Imran Khan’s counsel Babar Awan on Monday said that Imran Khan wants the court to summon a former General and US embassy officials as witnesses in cipher case.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf counsel Babar Awan revealed chairman’s statement to the media outside Adiala jail.

A special court, established under the Official Secrets Act 2023 is conducting the trial afresh after the Islamabad High Court nullified the jail trial on November 21.

Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood were indicted on October 23 but the indictment stood cancelled after the IHC order.

Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain provided case record to both suspects during the hearing held in the Adiala jail.

The Judge decided that charges would be filed during the next hearing on December 12 as the court has directives from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to complete proceedings in a month.

Only six journalists were allowed to attend the hearing today by the jail authorities. The PTI counsel also lamented that international media was not allowed to attend the hearing.
