Imran Khan challenges IHC verdict in PTI foreign funding case today (Saturday).
He challenged the Islamabad High Court (IHC) decision regarding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) foreign funding case in the Supreme Court (SC).

However, he has filed plea in his capacity as chairman of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s plea referred to the IHC declaring Akbar S. Babar as the member of PTI. But he had left the party in 2011.
In this regard, Imran Khan also referred to aqn email concerning the matter.
The premier said in his plea that Akbar S. Babar is not an affected member in this case.
He requested the apex court to nullify the IHC verdict about his party membership.
The application further argued that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) does not hold jurisdiction to hear the case.
His petition in the SC challenged the jurisdiction of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the foreign funding case.
Imran Khan also prayed that the Islamabad High Court’s decision of declaring Akbar S Babar a part of the ruling party null and void.
In December last year, the IHC had declared that party membership of Babar, an estranged PTI leader and the petitioner in the case, remained intact.
That had also transferred the foreign funding case back to the ECP.
In the petition, Imran Khan has said that Akbar S Babar has not been a part of the party since 2011.
He argued that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has no right to hear the case as Babar was not a member of the PTI. He clarified that Babar had sent an email in which he had stated that he had left the party, adding that the email is on the record.
