Imran’s mandate ‘stolen in the dark of night’: Raoof Hasan

14 February, 2024 11:58

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan has said that Imran Khan’s “mandate has been stolen in the dark of the night”.

The PTI leader made these remarks in a post on X. He said that Pakistan is being put on [the] road to further destabilisation.

He was referring to a possible formation of collation government led by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN).

“The decision to induct a bunch of criminals to form governments, who have been rejected by the people, reflects a myopic view of the grave challenges the country is beset with,” he wrote on X.

“Only Imran Khan has the vision and ability to bring Pakistan out of a deepening quagmire. He is the one people have reposed their overwhelming faith and trust in, but his mandate has been stolen in the dark of the night.”

He said that this is striking at the very essence of democratic principles and norms. “It also reflects a disdain for the national interests and the welfare of its people.”

“Forces of dark must be stopped and power must pass on to those whom the people have chosen as their leaders,” he concluded.

It is worth mentioning here that Shehbaz Sharif has been nominated for Prime Minister slot by PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif.
