Is Rohit Sharma retiring?

After being snubbed from Mumbai Indian captaincy, speculations surrounds Rohit Sharma’s future as what is next for him or is he considering retirement?

The India captain hasn’t answered any of the aforementioned questions until Thursday.

Many believe that the 36-year-old has played his last ODI World Cup, and he would be 40 by the time the 2027 World Cup comes knocking.

“I haven’t really thought about retirement. But I don’t know where life takes you,” Rohit told renowned anchor and host Gaurav Kapur.

“I am still playing well at this point in time – so I am thinking I am going to continue for a few more years and then, I don’t know. I really want to win the World Cup and there is a WTC final in 2025, hopefully India makes it.”

Since taking over as India’s captaincy, Rohit has come twice to winning the big prize, only to stumble at the final hurdle in 2023.

In June, India lost the WTC final to Australia.
