Israeli war crimes in Gaza will lead to conflict beyond regional circumstances, Iran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Tuesday that Israel and the United States will never be able to wipe out Hamas.

Abdollahian called Hamas as a “freedom movement, addeing Israel and the United States will never be able to eliminate Hamas.”

Iranian Foreign Minister was addressing at the meeting at United Nations in Geneva : “The human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and International Humanitarian Rights.”

The meeting comprised several foreign ministers from various countries, including representatives from Arab and Islamic nations, as well as senior diplomats.

He added that Israel, which has vowed to wipe out Hamas, could not have the hostages taken by Hamas during a deadly rampage on Oct. 7 freed through war. He said only a political solution could achieve this.

Highlighting the Israeli regime’s inhumane treatment of captive Palestinian civilians in Gaza, Amirabdollahian drew a parallel between this behavior and the extremist nature resembling that of ISIS.

He underscored that the failure to promptly address the brutal attacks by the apartheid Israeli regime against Gaza’s citizens will lead to an escalation of the conflict beyond the current regional circumstances.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani in a presser said that the EU “has failed to take effective measures to put an end to the usurping Zionist regime’s brutal attacks.”

Earlier the IMF in a blog post cautioned the conflict will also have consequences for the broader Middle East and North Africa region, with impacts on both people and economies.
