Karachiites get ready as mercury is likely to go up sharply in the metropolis from today (Monday), the Pakistan Metrological Department warned.

The health experts have advised the citizens to practice caution and increase water intake during the humid weather.

Though, the temperature is likely to rise 36°C to 38°C in the port city, which will feel like 40°C-44°C due to higher humidity level, said the PDM.

The weather is expected to become hotter as the weathermen expressed likelihood of temperature going as high as 46 degrees Celsius in upper and central Sindh.

Karachi and other coastal areas of the province are also likely to swelter as mercury is expected to shoot up.

The health experts also advised them to avoid eating out and keep their heads covered while going out.

The ongoing spell of heat began late April following a change in the wind direction and humidity.
