Lahore Qalandars eliminated from HBL PSL9

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have become the first team to get eliminated from the HBL Pakistan Super League season nine (PSL9) after their match against Peshawar Zalmi was called off due to rain.

Though they share a point with Zalmi for the washout game, but it wasn’t the desired results for the defending champions.

Qalandars needed a victory in order to stay alive in the competition, and any other results means that they would be out of the playoffs race.

So face they have played seven match and only have one point. They lost six games so far.

Covers were in place at the stadium after heavy downpour in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Earlier, they had been removed as the ground staff worked on drying the field.

The cut-off time for the match was 4:47pm local time.

Both the teams reached the stadium after their departure from the hotel was initially delayed.

Apart from Zalmi versus Qalandars, Islamabad United are scheduled to face Quetta Gladiators in the evening at the same venue.

There was heavy downpour in Rawalpindi and Islamabad yesterday (Friday) as well.
