Recently, UNICEF has expressed concern regarding the smog in Lahore and said that more than 1 crore children under the age of five are exposed to toxic air as Punjab, especially Lahore, has been engulfed in heavy smog for the past few weeks.

Various cities of Punjab, including Lahore and Multan, have been fighting against toxic smog for the past two weeks.
Despite various measures taken by the provincial government, the level of pollution in the air is increasing with the decrease in temperature.
Due to this situation, hundreds of people have been hospitalized, including dozens of children, while the air pollution is so severe that it is now visible from space.
In view of the situation, the authorities imposed a ban on all outdoor activities in Lahore last week, including closing schools and banning entry to parks and other open public spaces.
